Opened just in time for St. Patrick's Day 2008, this Irish pub
fast became a favorite of locals in the South Miami area.
Situated right on the corner of Sunset Drive and SW 58th Ct.,
it would take a right eejit to walk by and not be tempted to
sink a perfectly-poured pint of Guinness on a warm South
Florida afternoon. Sure what else would you be doing?
The Irish Times Pub & Eatery really comes to life in the wee
small hours however, opening as late as 5 am and attracting
a lively crowd of nighthawks, insomniacs and after-hours staff
from Sunset-area restaurants. Although the menu is limited, the
prices are very reasonable with Fish n' Chips,
Bangers n' Mash
and Shepherd's Pie the most expensive items at just $12.95.
The interior is typical of an intimate Dublin pub with a fireplace,
partioned seating areas and ceiling panels decorated with
famous Irish literary quotes. Soccer and rugby matches are
regularly shown on several screens throughout the pub and the
usual 4pm to 7 pm Happy Hour extends to cover NFL, Heat and
Hurricanes games as well.
Within a Shay Given goalkick of the Shoppes at Sunset Place,
the Irish Times is well worth a visit after a day's shopping or
browsing in the neighborhood.
