If you like to approach your Guinness by boat then this is the
place for you. Situated on the north side of the Neo Vertika
building, Waxy O' Connor's features a waterfront view with
free boat slips. The popular large outdoor patio area gets
crowded on weekend nights with guest DJ's providing the
soundtrack and the Miami River providing a cool breeze.

Opened in 2009, the pub features an interior built in County
Monaghan, Ireland, and shipped to the US to be assembled.
The result is an authenticity unrivalled by other South Florida
Irish bars, with much use made of rich, dark timbers, highly
-polished hardwoods and stained glass windows. A 64 foot bar
dominates the interior and there's plenty of carved wood
booths and snugs to be found.

The menu is substantial, with a wide selection of steaks,
seafood, sandwiches and salads available. Irish dishes include
Bangers n' Mash, Guinness and Beef Stew, and Irish Style
Fish n' Chips with Ice Cream Cheesecake or Jameson Bread
and Butter Pudding for desert. Prices are very reasonable with
almost all appetizers and salads and most entrées under $10.

The only downside to this bar is the parking situation. There
are a few precious metered spots nearby, otherwise it's valet
only. Unless you arrive by boat, of course.
